MCC Presents 2018 Asian Pacific American Heritage Leadership Awards

MANCHESTER, Conn. (May 3, 2018) — Three leadership awards were presented at Manchester Community College’s 5th annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration on Wed, May 1.

Sheen Mathew was born in Brushal, Germany and grew up in Cochin, Kerala, India.  After completing College in India, Sheen went to Switzerland to pursue his advanced Hotel Management Degree in the Swiss Alps at the Alpina School of Hotel Management.

 

Sheen has more than twenty years of extensive experience in the hospitality industry and has worked in Switzerland, Dubai, Hong Kong  and since 2005 he has been in the United States and he made Connecticut his home and opened his first Indian Restaurant "Utsav" in Vernon, CT.  In 2010, he sold his interest in "Utsav" to his partners and opened "Indigo Indian Bistro, Manchester, CT" in August 2010 in the ShopRite Plaza on Spencer Street just about a mile from Manchester Community College.

 

There are many things money can't buy and for those things there is Sheen Mathew.  The countless people, wholes lives Sheen Mathew has touched all his life, are testament to his tireless work, for the alleviation and upliftment of the forgotten, the oppressed, and the underprivileged.  Sheen's volunteerism and philanthropy serve as a beacon to all of us.  He is one of the most authentic, unassuming and down-to-earth gentlemen I have met in my life.
